Walks in London

Hello everyone,

I've started to familiarize myself with Francis Alÿs' book ”Seven Walks, London 2004-5”(London: Artangel 2005). In the book, Alÿs describes his walks in different parts of central London and the processes through which those walks inspired him to create several works of art (actions, paintings, photographs, film). Alÿs could perhaps be described as some kind of a metropolitan ”flâneur” with special interest in the divisions of public/private spheres in city life and social histories of places.
Alÿs was born in Belgium and trained as architect. He lives now in Mexico City. Perhaps his approach to ”working on London” has some elements I could use in my IPP devising process.. let's see

best,
joonas
